August 25th was the "battle" of the ex-Disney stars and highly anticipated release from a superstar in the making. I was inspired to write something about it. Now that my favourite girl group is on hiatus and my K-POP era is phasing out, I'm desperate to discover my next new music addiction. Maybe one of these will be your next fave?
Jaguar 2 (Album), Victoria Monet
Bangers all round. Every song has a soulful and groovy tempo. Instant faves are Smoke, How Does It Make You Feel & Good Bye.The features aren’t all necessary as Victoria could easily carry the album by herself as with Smoke (Reprise) and Buju Banton’s funk changes the smooth and effortlessly cool vibe of Party Girls. Nevertheless, obsessed with this woman!
Used To Be Young (Single), Miley Cyrus
Got me all up in my feels. How often have you felt bad for previous mistakes and not given yourself the grace of realising you just used to be young? Weeping on the way to work. Miley spoke straight to my soul. Starting her continuation of the ESV right!
Single Soon (Single), Selena Gomez
This song is fun and light. Not my favourite of the day, hoping for a bit more up tempo, club banger and the lyrics aren’t really much of anything. It’s an easy listen, but I did it the disservice of listening to AFTER Miley. Selena was set up, but I’m sure the remixes will elevate the party mood.
